Local meteorological conditions, shape and desiccation influence dispersal capabilities for airborne microorganisms

چکیده
The atmosphere plays an important role in the dispersal of microorganisms, as well connectivity most planet's ecosystems. In recent decades, interest microbial diversity and dispersion has increased due to its importance various fields. However, there are few studies on abundance airborne microorganisms factors, such meteorology, that affect their distribution. Likewise, physical-mathematical models attempting reproduce possible origins also require integrating some biological features. We collected under different meteorological conditions at a sampling station over 12-day period expand knowledge about relationship with atmospheric perspective. Total size distribution were measured all samples using epifluorescence techniques. Their estimated refined mathematical simulation air masses back-trajectories considering dry deposition. Our results showed values similar those found temperate regions land surface. our contribution we report clear between and, considered whole, local conditions. Despite captured particles small spherical (diameter < 20 μm), large filamentous surprisingly up 400 μm, found. demonstrate possibility these can have origin long distances, showing thus probability remarkable dispersal, without ruling out nearby origin, when equivalent diameter (ESD) drying capacity considered.

Urmia Lake desiccation and the signs of local climate changes
The water crisis is one of the important issues in the Middle East countries. Many lakes are drying up and/or facing critical situations, exerting tremendous impacts on the socio-economics of their region. Lake Urmia, in northwestern Iran, currently is facing critical situations and is on the brink of total shrinkage and environmental disaster. This paper investigates the roots of crises t...
متن کاملAirborne microorganisms from waste containers.
In physician's offices and biomedical labs, biological waste is handled every day. This waste is disposed of in waste containers designed for holding red autoclave bags. The containers used in these environments are closed hands-free containers, often with a step pedal. While these containers protect the user from surface-borne microorganisms, the containers may allow airborne microorganisms to...

*[email protected] 2007). In the last 50 years the cave suffered several microbiological crises (outbreak of microorganisms threatening the paintings) due to the invasion of the alga Bracteacoccus minor in 1963 (Lefèvre, 1974) and the fungus Fusarium solani in 2001 (Dupont et al., 2007). At present, the paintings are threatened by black stains produced by the fungus Ochroconis lascauxensis (M...
